Akakage is the main solo club music unit of ITO Yoichiro, a popular DJ and producer/remixer who has also been active under other names such as Natural Essence and RS-3000. His own sounds go from club music to J-pop, while his DJ style focuses on house with jazz, Latin and Brazilian flavors.

Akakage debuted in 1999 with EP "Would You Like Akakage" followed by first album "More! More! More!" In 2003, he released a second album titled "akakage in the earth", and in 2006 a third called "Fighissimo". Otherwise he has released several mix CDs and compilations (including his own "Osteria del Rosso" series), as well as many vinyl cuts.
